Job Purpose
The nine-month, tenure-track appointment is to support the academic programs, scholarship, and service/outreach missions of the College of Agriculture and Human Ecology at Tennessee Tech University. This will be accomplished by teaching undergraduate agribusiness classes, developing courses, advising and recruiting students for the agribusiness degree program as well as performing research and service/outreach. The nine-month appointment is primarily a teaching position (approximately 60%) with advising, outreach and the applied research component making up the remainder of the position (approximately 40%).

Essential Functions
Work as a faculty member in the TTU School of Agriculture in the area of agribusiness management. Teach primarily undergraduate classes in agribusiness management, ag-economics, ag-marketing, and statistical and spreadsheet analyses. Participate in curriculum and course development, recruit and mentor students, supervise student interns, advise students and student organizations, collaborate with other faculty and provide service through college and university activities. Provide leadership and strategic planning to expand course offerings. Evaluate and document expected results and impacts of educational programs on targeted audiences. Mentor students for competitive career placement within the industry. Assure compliance with civil rights and affirmative action policies. Provide assistance with other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
The College of Agriculture and Human Ecology seeks an individual with an earned Ph.D. in agricultural economics, agribusiness, or a closely related field. A.B.D. applicants near degree completion will be considered for the position at the assistant professor level. Applicants must have an excellent ability to speak and write the English language, strong interpersonal skills, the potential for excellence in undergraduate teaching and advising as well as the ability and desire to interact and collaborate with the agribusiness community in Tennessee.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience teaching and advising undergraduate students. Demonstrated ability to adapt teaching strategies and techniques to different levels of students' abilities and learning styles. Demonstrated ability to use innovative and creative teaching techniques and equipment, including the use of multimedia hardware and software. Demonstrated ability and commitment to teach online courses. Demonstrated ability to adapt teaching strategies and techniques to students of different ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds and a commitment to include diverse voices in program prioritization and planning. Demonstrated leadership ability and a desire to stay current in the field of agricultural economics.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Commensurate with education and experience. Full-time, nine-month, tenure-track position to begin August 1, 2019.
Benefits Information
Benefits include the accumulation of one (1) sick leave day per month and thirteen (13) University holidays. Other benefits include medical and life insurance (shared cost with the university), retirement, optional 401k, and educational benefits. Deferred income and benefits over 12 months.
