Administrative Assistant I


Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Administrative Assistant I in the Human Resources Office.

Primary Job Duties: Under supervision, supports general administrative functions in a Human Resources Office by answering phones, assisting walk-in customers, and providing support for search and selection.

Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED and two years clerical experience required.

Working knowledge of general office practices and procedures; of business English, spelling, grammar and punctuation; communicate effectively both orally and in writing to maintain poise and courtesy under pressure to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion and tact; to organize and execute multiple assignments under specific time constraints with general instructions; to perform mathematical computations; to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications: One year clerical experience working in a Human Resources setting. Working knowledge of PeopleSoft is preferred.

This is a full-time, non-exempt contractual position with a limited benefits package including medical, prescription, dental, paid leave, tuition remission benefits and more. Starting salary is $34,075.00 annually which is approximately $16.34 per hour.
