Position Title: Professional Lecturer and Technology Development Coordinator, Fashion and Art/Digital Media programs

Job Summary: This full-time, non-tenure track teaching position, to teach Fashion Program and Digital Media coursework. The position focuses on instruction of undergraduate courses in technology that impacts the fashion industry and art field. Students will include majors in Fashion Design; Fashion Merchandising with concentrations in Fashion Business, Fashion Promotion or Fashion Product Development, as well as students with minors in Fashion Product Development or Fashion Merchandising; and majors and minors in Studio Art; and Digital Media.

This person will also serve as the Technology Development Coordinator, and as such will be the point person for providing directional support in regard to technology for the Fashion Program and Art and Digital Media Department. He/she will work with the program director, department chair, dean and other administrative officers to provide this support.

Teaching load is 4 courses per semester, with two course releases per year for the coordinator work.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree (a Master's degree strongly preferred);

Experience with maker space and studio operation;

2-5 years of teaching experience at the college level;

A commitment to student-centered education.

Essential Functions: Teaching duties include teaching undergraduate courses in his/her field of expertise including courses such as introductory to advanced levels of CAD (Computer Assisted Design), PLM (Product Lifecycle Management), Excel, digital fabric printing, and/or digital media/graphic design courses. This candidate will demonstrate a strong digital and creative skill set and the ability to teach and critique student work based on the standards of the fashion and art industries.

As the Technical Development Coordinator, this person will develop and execute goals for the space that align with the strategic plan of the college and operating plans of the school and departments. He/she will work directly with faculty to integrate projects into the curriculum that encourage the use of technology within the Maker Space and digital labs; work with Maker Space site manager, digital lab instructors and others to develop systems for aiding students with individual projects. Due to the rapid pace of technological advancements, it is imperative that the Coordinator engages in consistent professional development activities and the investigation/application of existing and emerging technologies.

Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree

Depth in knowledge of advanced manufacturing techniques using technology, teaching techniques and curriculum development.
