Teacher/Instructor- Upward Bound Summer Program

Position Title: Teacher/Instructor-Summer Program

Job Summary: The Marist Upward Bound Program is seeking applicants for the summer program, which runs from June 30 through August 9, 2019, generally Sunday-Thursday. All of the following positions are contingent upon funding. Instructors and counselors must attend an afterschool orientation on Wednesday, June 26 and post-program activities.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree and/or NYS Secondary Certification required for certain positions.

Essential Functions: The teacher/instructor typically conducts three enrichment classes and one repeat class per day at the high school level in English, math, science, social studies or career exploration between 8:30 A.M.-3:00 P.M. In addition, he/she conducts two days of Regents review.

The Marist Upward Bound Program was founded in 1966. It is a federally funded college preparatory program designed to generate in participants the skills and motivation necessary to persist in completing their secondary education and enter and complete a program of postsecondary education.
