Duties and Responsibilities
Loyola University Chicago ( LUC ), College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Theology invites applications for a full-time, non-track position at the rank of Lecturer, to begin in the academic year 2019-20. The department serves the university s undergraduate core curriculum and offers undergraduate majors and minors in Theology and Religious Studies. The department also offers an M.A. in Biblical Languages and Literature, Christian Ethics, and Theological Studies, and Ph.D. concentrations in New Testament/Early Christianity, Ethics, and Theology. The standard teaching load is 4-4 (or 4-3, depending upon number of students taught). A willingness to be engaged in the academic life of the department and to support its undergraduate mission is expected.

Qualifications
Candidates should have a completed Ph.D. at the time of application, a strong record of undergraduate teaching, and a willingness to support the mission of Loyola University Chicago and the goals of a Jesuit education. Candidates should have a specific expertise in an area of Christian theology and will be expected to teach in Loyola University Chicago s undergraduate core curriculum, focusing on Christian Theology, with particular attention to the Roman Catholic theological tradition. The successful candidate will be an excellent pedagogue, with a record of undergraduate teaching, and be prepared to teach one or more of the following courses that serve the department s diverse multi-cultural and multi-religious student body: Introduction to Christian Theology, Roman Catholicism, New Testament, Church, Sacraments, Jesus Christ, Christian Marriage, and Christianity through Time.
