Resident Director ? Marist Italy

Position Title: Resident Director - Marist Italy

Department: Housing/Residential Life - Florence Italy Branch Campus

Job Summary: The Office of Housing and Residential Life at Marist College invites applications for a Resident Director of Marist Italy. The person in this position is responsible for the daily management of the undergraduate apartments at the Marist Branch Campus in Florence, Italy, and general supervision of Marist students.

Minimum Qualifications:

***Applicants must be Italian citizens and/or have prior permission to work in Italy.***
Bachelor's degree, and one to two years of experience working with college aged student populations, ideally in a student services or residential life capacity. Ideal candidates will also possess familiarity with Italian or a similar language, have experience living or working abroad, and possess knowledge of undergraduate residential life issues. Candidates must have computer skills, strong communication skills, and the willingness to learn a foreign language.
Essential Functions:
  • Facilitate student programming and advising activities in residence halls.
  • Assist students with the adjustments of College and living abroad; offer counseling and mediation as appropriate.
  • Provide judicial enforcement within residence halls.
  • Coordinate and lead student excursions and trips.
  • Develop and maintain a safe, comfortable academic environment within the student residences.
  • Track information and provide monthly and maintenance reports as necessary.
  • Act as liaison for visitors, hosting guests and provide tours.
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned by supervisor.
