POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Department of Computer Science and Computer Information System (CSCI) at Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM) invites applications for two non-tenure track full-time lecturer positions in Computer Science beginning in January and August 2020 respectively. This is a one-year (nine-month), renewable appointment. The responsibilities will include teaching courses and maintaining office hours appropriate to the needs of the department. In addition, there may have other duties as designated by the department chair. The teaching load is 8 courses (24 hrs) per year (Fall and Spring). Please check the detail minimum requirements for those possible eight courses in the qualification section. Summer teaching is possible. Responsibility includes students advising, face-to-face, online, day, evening and/or off campus teaching, etc. Services at both the departmental and university levels are also expected.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates must have received at least a Master's degree in Computer Science or a closely related field before the employment starts. If candidate's Master's or Bachelor's degree is not in Computer Science, but in a closely related field, the transcript must contain at least eight out of following eleven core Computer Science undergraduate courses: 1) Object-Oriented Programming; 2) Data Structure; 3) Algorithm; 4) Discrete Mathematics/Structures; 5) Computer Organization/Architecture; 6) Operating System; 7) Database; 8) Networking; 9) Artificial Intelligence; 10) Computer Graphics; 11) Software Engineering. AUM seeks candidates with demonstrated experience in all areas of computer science. Evidence of excellence in undergraduate course teaching is required.
