Head Coach, Men's Basketball


Salisbury University, a member of the University System of Maryland, is a regionally accredited four-year comprehensive institution offering 62 distinct graduate and undergraduate programs. Located on the historic Eastern Shore, SU's beautiful campus is some 30 miles from the Atlantic beaches and 2.5 hours from Baltimore and Washington, D.C.

Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Head Coach, Men's Basketball.

Primary Job Duties: Recruit and develop students and student-athletes in a manner in which they can reach their maximum potential academically, socially, physically and professionally. To supervise, organize, instruct, and lead all day-to-day aspects of a competitive NCAA Division III intercollegiate athletics program. Other administrative duties (i.e. event management) will be assigned as a secondary duty.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and 3 years men's basketball coaching experience. CPR and First Aid Certification required within the first 90 days of employment. Exceptional problem solving, planning, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills with sensitivity to a diverse population; ability to effectively motivate student-athletes. Must be detail oriented and have excellent customer service, organization and prioritization, follow through, time management, and oral & written communication skills. Also, must be flexible and possess the ability to successfully handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and work well under pressure, independently, and in a team-oriented environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is required.

Preferred Qualifications: Previous college coaching experience and a Master's degree in Education, Liberal Studies, Business or related field.

This is a full-time exempt State position with a full benefits package. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
