The University of California, San Diego (UCSD) School of Medicine, Department of Surgery, Division of Trauma, Surgical Critical Care, Burns and Acute Care Surgery (http://trauma.ucsd.edu/) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff and student body. The department is seeking academic general surgeons with special interests and expertise in Trauma/Burn, Surgical Critical Care, and Acute Care Surgery.

These are full-time faculty positions with excellence and commitment to clinical activities, research, education and teaching.

The division is searching for two different faculty positions:

Candidates must have experience in the following areas:

1. Candidates must have demonstrated excellent qualifications and expertise in Trauma/Burn, Surgical Critical Care, and Acute Care Surgery.
2. Candidates must have demonstrated excellent qualifications and expertise in Burn Surgery.

Candidates must have an MD and possess documented teaching and research experience in an area relevant to Trauma/Burn, Critical Care/Acute Care Surgery. Candidates must have board d certification in General Surgery. Candidates must hold or be eligible for a certificate of added qualifications in Surgical Critical Care. Candidates must have or be able to obtain a California medical license.

Appointment will be at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. Series will be determined by the successful candidate's skills, qualifications and experience.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and based on University of California pay scales. Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded.
