The Department of Pathology at the University of California, San Diego (http://pathology.ucsd.edu) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body and is seeking academic pathologists in the Division of Anatomic Pathology with subspecialty training in breast, gynecologic pathology, head and neck, lung, bone and soft tissue and cytopathology.

UCSD Health System is the only university-based medical facility in San Diego, providing advanced patient care and conducting innovative biomedical research. The Health System includes two university hospitals, an NCI Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Shiley Eye Center, and the Sulpizio Family Cardiovascular Center. The ideal candidate will have strong demonstrated accomplishments in areas contributing to diversity, equity and inclusion, and a desire to play a leadership role in advancing UC San Diego's commitment to achieving excellence and diversity. Clinical duties will include sign-out responsibilities, general frozen section coverage, call duties, and presentation at tumor boards. Teaching activities will include participation in resident and fellow training in Anatomic Pathology, and medical student teaching. There is an expectation for academic productivity.

Applicants must have M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. and be board certified/board eligible in Anatomic Pathology and be qualified for unrestricted medical licensure in the state of California. Candidates must demonstrate evidence of productivity in an academic setting including a publication record, strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work in a collaborative research and clinical environment.

Independent sign out experience is preferred.

Academic rank, step and salary are commensurate with qualifications and based on UC San Diego scales.
