Assistant\/Associate Professor: Educational Psychology and Content Methods

Description
The School of Teacher Education (STE) at San Diego State University is housed in the #1-ranked College of Education in the California State Universities. The Position: The School of Teacher Education is searching for a tenure track assistant or associate professor in Educational Psychology who uses educational psychological theories and methods to inform teacher education, preferably focusing on pedagogical content knowledge in one or more of the following areas: English/Language Arts, mathematics, science, social science, physical education, or visual and performing arts. Position starts August 2019.

RANK AND SALARY

Appointment is for a 10\u2013month assistant or associate professor with salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

SCHOOL OF TEACHER EDUCATION (STE)

Because SDSU began as a normal school, teacher education is central to the historic mission of the university. With nationally recognized research accomplishments and diverse expertise, the STE is academic home to 18 tenured/tenure-track faculty and more than 70 adjunct faculty and lecturers. The STE offers programs at the undergraduate, teaching credential, and graduate levels. It serves undergraduate students through our liberal studies program. Our teacher credential programs prepare teachers using a cohort model. Teacher candidates are able to earn either a multiple subjects (elementary) or single subject (secondary) teaching credential. At the graduate level, the STE offers specialized master's degrees and a COE-sponsored joint Ph.D. program in Education with Claremont Graduate University.
