Housekeeping Supervisor I


Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Housekeeping Supervisor I.

Primary Job Duties: Supervises housekeepers to ensure the cleanliness, orderliness, and attractive conditions of building interiors. Determines work priorities, plans, schedules, assigns and reviews work. Inspects and completes reports of assigned areas. Ensures materials and supplies are maintained. May be required to move furniture and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications: Three years in housekeeping in a lead or supervisor capacity required. Valid driver's license with no more 5 points for moving violations. General knowledge of the procedures, equipment and supplies used in housekeeping required. Skill in the use and maintenance of housekeeping tools and equipment; in the selection and application of housekeeping chemicals and supplies; in providing guidance and training to others. Ability to plan and supervise the work of housekeeping personnel; to estimate supply and equipment needs; to read, write, and perform arithmetic calculations; to operate assigned tools and housekeeping equipment; to work with chemicals and cleaning solutions; to understand and follow oral and written instructions; to lift and transport supplies and refuse; to wear and work in personal protective equipment. Must be able to lift 30 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications: High school diploma or GED preferred. Experience with Microsoft Office preferred.

This is a full-time, non-exempt, State position with a full benefits package. Starting salary is $30,962 annually, which is approximately $14.84 per hour. The schedule associated with this position is eligible for shift differential of an additional $1.00 per hour. The primary schedule is tentatively M-F 5:00pm-1:30am with occasional weekends required. This position is considered essential and will be called upon to provide emergency coverage when necessary. Work schedule or area may vary based on the needs of the University.
