Open Rank (Tenure-Track) Professor: Clinical Psychology\/Behavioral Medicine

The Department of Psychology at San Diego State University invites applications for a faculty position at the tenure-track advanced Assistant rank, or at the Associate/Full Professor rank with tenure, with a focus on prevention-to-intervention health science.We seek an individual with a well established, funded, translational research program focused onpreventionand/or evidence-based treatment of major chronic physical and/or mental health conditions, broadly defined. The department currently has strong prevention-to-intervention health science research programs in chronic illness, mental health, and developmental and neurodegenerative disorders, and this position will complement existing department strengths in translational health science. Preference will be given to candidates with an interest in developing and implementing research in diverse populations.

Candidates must hold a doctorate in Psychology or allied discipline, with preference for candidates with doctoral training in clinical psychology. Candidates should have a strong record of research productivity and extramural funding, and present evidence of teaching effectiveness. They are expected to teach graduate and undergraduate courses, mentor undergraduate, Master's, and doctoral students, and engage in department, college, and university-level service activities. The Psychology Department hasan APA-accredited doctoral program in clinical psychology offered jointly with the Department of Psychiatry, School of Medicine, University of California, San Diego, and its faculty are affiliated with a range of doctoral programs throughout the university including programs in PublicHealth, Language and Communicative Disorders, and ComputationalSciences, as well as the Biomedical Informatics Research Center. The Psychology Department also has a research-oriented MA program with research areas that includebehavioral and cognitive neuroscience, developmental psychology, learning and cognition, physical and/or mentalhealthresearch, and social/personality psychology; a terminal MS program in applied psychology with emphases in industrial/organizational and program evaluation;and a large and diverse population of undergraduate majors.
