The College of Education at San Diego State University, Department of Administration, Rehabilitation, and Postsecondary Education (ARPE) is seeking a full-time tenure track professor of Postsecondary Education Leadership at the Assistant or Associate rank to begin in Fall 2019. The selected individual will be responsible for creating and sustaining an active research agenda, teaching masters and doctoral courses in postsecondary education, advising and supporting graduate students, supervising doctoral dissertations, and serving the university and profession.

Applicants must have earned a doctorate in higher/postsecondary education (or a closely-related field), have developed a coherent research agenda relevant to postsecondary education student success, be able to teach graduate courses in community college leadership and student affairs in postsecondary education, and have methodological expertise that would enable them to direct graduate students in conducting independent research.

The ideal candidate will provide evidence of meaningful contributions to knowledge in postsecondary education policy and practice with a focus on Hispanic/minority-serving institutions; prioritize equity and equity-minded perspectives in teaching, research, and service; and demonstrate a commitment to teaching and conducting research on student success issues applicable to minoritized and other underrepresented populations in education. Candidates that have experience working as a professional postsecondary administrator are also preferred.
