Term Faculty in Mathematics

Position Title: Term Faculty in Mathematics

School: Department of Mathematics/School of Computer Science and Mathematics

Job Summary: Responsibilities will include teaching freshman and sophomore level mathematics courses (both in and outside of the major), teaching First Year Seminar courses, and may include institutional participation.

Minimum Qualifications: Candidates should have a Master's degree in mathematics from an accredited institution, and preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience.

Essential Functions: This is primarily a teaching position, but depending of the qualifications of the applicant, it may also include institutional participation and professional development.

Preferred Qualifications: All qualified candidates will be considered, however preference will be given to those who demonstrate superior teaching skills, enthusiasm in the classroom, and the ability to continually develop as a teacher.

Required Application Documents: A complete application will include a cover letter, curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching philosophy, and three recommendation letters.

The Department of Mathematics offers a traditional B.A. in Mathematics, a B.A. in Mathematics Education, and a B.S. in Applied Mathematics with financial/actuarial, biology, chemistry, and computer science concentrations. In addition, we offer an interdisciplinary B.S. in Data Science and Analytics with the Department of Computing Technology. The successful applicant will join a department characterized by a strong sense of community in which students are the central focus and faculty are both accessible and approachable.
