Assistant / Associate Professor of Public Administration

Position Title: Assistant / Associate Professor of Public Administration

Department:
Department of Public and Nonprofit Administration / School of Management
Job Summary: This full-time, tenure track position will involve teaching primarily graduate courses (including online courses) in the Master of Public Administration Program and maintaining a high level of professional activity through research and service in the candidate's area of emphasis. Teaching in the School of Management's undergraduate programs is also expected.

Minimum Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have training and experience in teaching courses in human resource management, foundations/introductory courses in public administration, or public budgeting. Candidates should have an earned doctorate in Public Administration or an anticipated completion date during the fall of 2019.

Essential Functions: Candidates should be superior graduate and undergraduate teachers and have a commitment to research. The candidate is expected to advise MPA and undergraduate students, produce scholarship, and perform services for the college, school and department.

Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience teaching public management related courses and professional experience as a practitioner are also highly desirable.

About the Department:

The School of Management enrolls approximately 1,400 undergraduate students in its B.S. in Accounting, Dual Degree in Accounting, B.S. in Business Administration, and B.A. in Economics programs, and 400 master level students in its MPA, MBA, and Master of Science in Professional Accountancy programs.

The MPA Program places a strong emphasis on students, quality teaching, and ethical dimensions in public administration with growing importance placed on scholarship and research. The MPA program is offered on-campus, at off-campus sites, and over the Internet in an online format.
