Visiting Assistant Professor of Environmental Science

Position Title: Visiting Assistant Professor Of Environmental Science

School: Environmental Science & Policy/ School of Science

Job Summary: The Marist College Department of Environmental Science and Policy seeks candidates for a one-year position as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Environmental Science to begin in fall 2019.

Minimum Qualifications: Doctorate in a related field from an accredited university.

Essential Functions: The primary responsibility for this position is undergraduate course instruction. The load is a 4/4, with laboratory courses counting the same as class time. Course assignments are somewhat flexible depending upon the expertise of the chosen candidate. Supervision of student research is supported and highly encouraged.

Preferred Qualifications: Past teaching experience at the undergraduate level is strongly preferred. The department prefers applicants with an active, high quality research agenda conducive to involving students in research, with the possibility of peer reviewed publication.

About the Department: The Department of Environmental Science and Policy highly values experiential environmental education, and provides rich research and internship opportunities for students. Majors can choose from a variety of tracks spanning science and policy, and are expected to complete an extended independent research or internship project before graduating.
