Job Description:

 

This is a 10-month faculty position in Accounting and is effective August 2019.

HCC offers accounting courses for Certified Bookkeeping, A.A. degree in Accounting, and CPA Exam candidacy. This position requires the candidate to demonstrate the ability to teach successfully, practice excellent communication skills with all colleagues, faculty and students, demonstrate proficient technology skills, show a strong commitment to teaching excellence, have demonstrable interest in creative achievement, and commitment to the community college mission. Successful candidates will demonstrate leadership competency. Teaching responsibilities include day and evening courses.

Position duties include teaching HCC's various accounting courses, preparing relevant teaching and assessment materials, engaging and advising students, writing syllabi with course expectations and objectives, timely grading of course work, submitting required reports, participating in college and community responsibilities, coordinating accounting courses, coordinating responsibilities with other faculty and staff, and hiring and coordinating as appropriate for adjunct faculty.

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
  • Master's degree, preferred
  • Professional accounting experience, and capability of teaching college level courses
  • Availability for evening CPA candidacy classes preferred

Hours Per Week: 37.5
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday
Compensation: Competitive salary - commensurate with experience plus excellent health insurance, paid leave and tuition reimbursement
