Resource Lab Coordinator/Lecturer-Nursing


The Department of Nursing at Salisbury University is accepting applications for the position of Resource Lab Coordinator/Clinical Faculty-Lecturer. This is a ten month, full-time, non-tenure track, contractual position.

Primary Job Duties/Responsibilities: One third of position time spent in oversight of operations of the Lucy Tull Resource and Health Assessment Labs. Duties include: 1) collaborating with faculty in the development/ implementation of lab/simulation learning experiences; 2) preparing for lab demonstrations, simulations, and skill practice; 3) serving as resource for information about mannequins, models, and related equipment; 4) assuring that all equipment is functional; 5) supervision of lab/simulation support personnel. Two thirds of position time spent in clinical teaching including supervision and evaluation of students and may include classroom teaching.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing required; at least two years of recent nursing experience in acute care setting; unencumbered Maryland or compact state RN License/ eligibility for licensure in Maryland.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of current acute care nursing practice; strong interpersonal communication, planning, and organizational skills; customer-oriented outlook with ability to maintain high-level services for consumers; and creative ability in development and management of learning resources within budgetary constraints. Effective teaching style that supports diverse learning styles within the student body and ability to impart knowledge to students within own area(s) of nursing practice and to provide formative and summative feedback to students. Attention to detail required.

Preferred Qualifications: Master of Science in Nursing.
