ABOUT AIC

American International College is a private, coeducational institution of higher education located on a 70+ acre campus in Springfield, Massachusetts. The campus has 42 buildings on two sites approximately 1/2 mile apart with a total of approximately 660,000 gross square feet. Included in the inventory of buildings are student residences for a resident population of 900 students. Founded in 1885, the College has 3700 graduate and undergraduate students. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Identify, recruit, and enroll prospective students, serving as their primary contact while counseling them on the enrollment process and undergraduate opportunities at AIC; including but not limited to outreach regarding all facets of the admissions process, financial aid, and events. Communicate to prospective territory constituents via email, print, and phone, meeting all mandated outreach requirements.
  • Presents at on and off-site events on behalf of AIC, providing an overview of the College; including but not limited to the admissions process, financial aid, and the undergraduate college experience.
  • Conducts file review for all completed undergraduate applicants, making admissions decisions for incoming undergraduate students. Consults with undergraduate director as necessary.
  • Accurately maintains data entry in CRM and application portal; including but not limited to inquiry entry, application review, and all other pertinent communications with prospective students.
  • Schedule and conduct recruitment related travel throughout assigned territory, representing the College by attending fairs, visits, and other travel as needed.
  • Create, implement, and manage communications for recruitment territory, including but not limited to visit emails, letters, and posters.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Required Degree(s): Bachelor's Degree
  • Preferred Field of Expertise: College recruitment and admissions, specifically as a tour guide, student ambassador, or student-leader or experience in a related field
  • Required Licensure(s): Valid Drivers License

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Able to travel extensively (10-12 weeks per year), including evening and weekend work as required.
  • Ability to lift, load, and transport admissions materials, displays, and other equipment up to 35 pounds.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to represent the office and College in a professional manner, conducting compelling, persuasive presentations to both small and large groups.
  • Ability to adapt and problem-solve as needed, especially under pressure.
  • Highly motivated with a positive attitude, strong commitment to customer service.
  • Able to quickly learn new database systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

WORK SCHEDULE

The Undergraduate Admissions Counselor is full time, twelve month, exempt position not limited to 35 hours per week. This is a benefit eligible position. Normal office hours are from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, flexible to the needs of the department. Extensive travel (10 - 12 weeks per year) as well as evening and weekend work is required.
