The Willumstad School offers the MBA Program weeknights on its Garden City campus, a Global MBA in Manhattan, an Accelerated MBA Program on Saturdays in Garden City and on weeknights at off-site locations, and 4+1 programs. In addition, a Master of Supply Chain Management program is offered at Garden City. The School is expanding its portfolio of graduate programs with new degrees offerings in the pipeline.



JOB SUMMARY:

The position requires extensive personal interaction with graduate students, faculty and staff and a high degree of attention to detail.

REPORTS TO: Director of Graduate Programs



RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  1. Advise students on academic programs, providing practical information related to the curriculum and degree progress, as well as administrative aspects of course selection and registration.
  2. Interpret institutional policies and procedures.
  3. Help students make informed decisions about their academic and professional goals.
  4. Facilitate access to university resources and support services when needed (e.g., career center, writing center, etc.)
  5. Follow up with students on any report of unsatisfactory work (e.g., failed and/or incomplete grades, probation, etc.)
  6. Maintain records of meetings and communications with students and progress towards completion of degree.
  7. Participate in high-priority events for the School of Business (e.g., Admissions graduate open houses, speaker events, etc.)
  8. Act as representative from the Robert B. Willumstad School of Business for the Adelphi Leadership Certificate Program
  9. Act as admissions process point of contact for students applying to the Global MBA program in Manhattan and the M.S. in Supply Chain program offered at the Garden City campus.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Strong interpersonal skills.
  2. Strong supervisory skills.
  3. Knowledge of business degree programs.
  4. Familiarity with AACSB (Associate to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) accreditation standards.
  5. Excellent computer skills for using Microsoft Office and/or equivalent.
  6. Ability to be organized and pay attention to detail.
  7. Ability to prioritize workload according to volume, urgency, etc.

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Master's degree preferably an MBA.
  2. At least two years work experience in student services in a university setting, preferably in a business school.
  3. Demonstrated evidence of ability to work effectively with a multi-cultural student body.
  4. Evening and weekend hours are expected to be kept since graduate courses are offered in the evening, Mondays through Thursdays, and on Saturdays.
  5. Ability to hold occasional office hours at Adelphi Manhattan Center
