The Department of Neurosciences within the School of Medicine at UC, San Diego (http://neurosciences.ucsd.edu/) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff and student body.

This position will make innovative and significant contributions to a project that requires expertise in EEG, fMRI and eye-tracking as well as proficiency in software including MATLAB, EEGLAB/ERPLAB, AFNI, FSL and R (or a reasonable equivalent of R). The Project Scientist will be responsible for developing, conducting and analyzing experimental EEG and fMRI paradigms to identify biomarkers of change following a behavioral intervention aimed at enhancing cognition in older adults. The intervention uses gaze-driven video games and the position also requires eye-tracking experience to assess changes in eye movement speed and accuracy.

The Project Scientist will aid the Principal Investigator in writing and publishing scientific reports, manuscripts and grants.

Candidates must have a PhD in Psychology or related discipline and experience with human subject testing. Candidates must be proficient in EEGLAB/ERPLAB, AFNI, FSL, and R (or equivalent of R). The Project Scientist must be able to function independently and train students to assist in data collection.

Proficiency in MATLAB and Python is preferred.

Appointment will be at Assistant, Associate or Full Project Scientist level based on background and years of experience. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on University of California pay scales.
