JOB SUMMARY:

Serve as the primary recruiter of prospective freshmen, transfer, graduate and international students to Adelphi University.

REPORTS TO: Director of International Admissions

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  1. Recruit freshmen, transfer, graduate and international students to Adelphi University.
  2. Interview prospective students and meet with their families.
  3. Evaluate completed freshman and transfer application folders for decision.
  4. Cultivate prospects via tele-counseling, social media and email.
  5. Represent Adelphi at high school visitations and college fairs in assigned territories.
  6. Act as liaison with departments of assigned special programs.
  7. Liaise with school counselors and other university partners.
  8. Become an active member of relevant professional organizations.
  9. Present to groups of prospective students at on and off campus recruitment events.
  10. Assist with various admissions tasks as directed by the Office of University Admissions.
  11. Assist with liaising with Adelphi University International.
  12. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.



REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
  2. Must have a valid driver's license.
  3. Ability to be organized and pay attention to detail.
  4. Ability to prioritize workload according to volume, urgency, etc.
  5. Ability to work long hours and weekends.
  6. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Ability to drive or travel to locations in recruiting area.
  2. Ability to work long hours and weekends.



EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bachelor's Degree required,
  2. 1-2 years related experience preferred.
  3. Applicants with international credential evaluation experience and intercultural competence preferred.
