The student assistant position for CSU Advise provides tutoring support to probation and transfer students as well as assistance to the CSU Advise staff.
Responsibilities
Conduct tutoring appointments with probation and transfer students in Core English and History courses to include: ENGL 1101 & ENGL 1102; either HIST 2111 or 2112 and either HIST 1111 or 1112. Track all assigned appointments and record detailed notes on every appointment, cancellation, reschedule or no show through EAB platform. Maintain confidentiality of all student information in accordance with FERPA regulations; attend trainings twice monthly; serve as a resource for students; other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Be enrolled as a full-time student at Columbus State University with a GPA of 3.5 or greater in Core English and History courses in which you will tutor; be at least a junior and pass a student training/tutoring program; be well-organized and able to multi-task as needed; possess excellent oral and written communication skills; possess basic computer skills including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other related programs; model appropriate behavior for students and the campus community.
Preferred Qualifications
Promote great customer service; be familiar with audio/visual equipment; be proficient with Microsoft Office; experience working with students and university administrators.
Proposed Salary
$13/hour.

Conditions of Employment
To be considered for a Student Assistant position, the applicant must be a current Columbus State University student, taking at least six (6) credit hour courses per semester.
