Student Assistant

Job Summary

This person will provide front office receptionist and administrative support for the Leadership Institute (LI) at Columbus State University. The position involves assisting the Executive Director of the Leadership Institute, Director for Marketing/Business Development, Assistant Director for Client Relations/Market Research, as well as contracted facilitators in a variety of clerical and administrative assignments.

Responsibilities

Major duties include:

Manage incoming calls, emails and voicemail; provide administrative support for all LI sessions (local and off-sight), including room set-up, catering needs, managing attendee list, printing and binding of assessments, reports or handouts, evaluations and greeting guests; maintain organization calendars (sessions, speaking engagements, classrooms) via Google calendar and in a Word document ; maintain supplies and materials and order as needed; communicate general information with program participants/clients; establish and maintain contact lists based on marketing objectives; maintain workroom, storage room and training rooms in a neat and organized manner; sort through incoming mail and sign for packages; work with marketing to coordinate and distribute materials for special events, including evites, mailings, guest list, event set up and catering and input e-quests through CSU's system and coordinate fulfillment.

Minor duties include:

Maintain session evaluations; support LI with PowerPoints and other administrative needs; attend LI planning meetings; compose and prepare correspondence that is sometimes confidential; support LI with assorted pop-up projects and other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Excellent customer service and communication skills in dealing with clients in person, on the telephone and via email; demonstrate ability to utilize Microsoft Word and Excel; familiar with Google Mail, Docs, Sheets, Slides and Drive, to include editing and writing traditional business correspondence; experience with Windows computers; ability to prioritize tasks; exceptional time management skills; strong organizational skills and attention to detail and the ability to work independently and confidentially.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, including Acrobat, InDesign and Photoshop.

Proposed Salary

The salary is commensurate with education and experience. This position will work up to 19 hours per week.

Conditions of Employment
