Lecturer

The Leadership & Interdisciplinary Studies faculty in the College of Integrative Sciences and Arts on the Tempe Campus at Arizona State University invites applications for a Lecturer(s) for the 2019-2020 academic year. We are a vibrant community of thirty-six faculty dedicated to excellent teaching, scholarship and service.  We are student centered, collegial, innovative, dynamic and growing.  We offer degrees in organizational leadership, interdisciplinary studies, and liberal studies. The successful candidate(s) will provide instruction in one or more of the following three areas: Organizational Leadership, Interdisciplinary Studies, and/or Liberal Studies. Course assignments are at the graduate and undergraduate levels, and may occur in a variety of modalities (online, on-ground, hybrid). The course load is determined by the faculty head and typically consists of four classes per semester.  The successful candidate(s) will also be expected to develop and refine curriculum, provide service to the academy, and participate in the intellectual life of a collaborative and intellectually diverse faculty. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, non-tenure eligible position renewable on an academic year basis contingent upon satisfactory performance, availability of resources, and the needs of the university. Required Qualifications:

  • Doctorate from a regionally accredited institution related to organizational leadership, interdisciplinary studies, or liberal studies
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness
  • Excellent English written and spoken communication skills
  • Stated commitment meeting the needs of diverse student populations and/or reaching out to diverse communities
  • Evidence of two years’ post-secondary teaching excellence

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Teaching experience in fields of organizational leadership, interdisciplinary studies, or liberal studies and/or substantial applied leadership experience
  • Experience teaching university undergraduate or graduate students
  • Experience teaching diverse populations
  • Experience providing faculty service
  • Experience teaching online (including experience with Canvas)
  • Experience developing, refining and/or assessing curriculum
  • Experience working in collaborative environments
