Accounting Clerk II - Telecommunications


Salisbury University, a member of the University System of Maryland, is a regionally accredited four-year comprehensive institution offering 62 distinct graduate and undergraduate programs. Located on the historic Eastern Shore, SU's beautiful campus is some 30 miles from the Atlantic beaches and 2.5 hours from Baltimore and Washington, D.C.

Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Accounting Clerk II in the Information Technology's Telecommunications Department.

Primary Job Duties: This position is responsible for clerical processing for billing and record keeping aspects of the campus telecommunications systems. Specifically, the position performs administrative duties associated with the processing of the monthly/annual billing cycles to include verifying invoices are accurate and authorizing payment; Maintains various spreadsheets and input data into E911 System; Orders cellular services and equipment and coordinate efforts with the IT Helpdesk; performs various station updates in the PBX and Voice Mail system; Trains others in the use of services and equipment and documents both internal and external Telecom information in the Confluence system.

Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED and one year accounting clerical experience; Proficient using personal computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Internet Explorer, Power Point and e-mail.

Working knowledge of bookkeeping principles, mathematical methods and techniques. Skill in performing basic mathematical computations; in the use of calculators, computers, communication systems equipment. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to operate keyboards, personal computers, word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, financial software, manual and automated office equipment; to prepare written records and reports; to input data. Ability to process transactions and provide information accurately; to provide guidance and instruction to others; and to work effectively with others. Ability to interact with students, staff, faculty, vendors and public at all levels in an efficient and professional manner.

Preferred Qualifications: Two years processing billing in a business environment preferred.

This is a full-time, non-exempt State position with a full benefits package. Starting salary is $30,962 annually, which is approximately $14.84 per hour.
