Asst. Prof. of Multimedia Web Design & Development

The Department of Computing Sciences at the University of Hartford invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Multimedia Web Design and Development to begin Fall 2019.  Tenure-track faculty are evaluated on their teaching, scholarship leading to publication, and service.  The teaching load is three courses per semester.  Candidates with a demonstrated ability to contribute to the university’s commitment to diversity are strongly encouraged to apply.  There will be opportunity to teach undergraduate courses in visualization, user interface design, game design, introductory computer science and other technical media-focused electives.  Applicants with either a technical focus or media arts focus are encouraged to apply. Applicants with a technical focus must have a doctorate in computer science, information technology or a related technical field. Applicants with a media focus must have a terminal graduate degree in media or related terminal degree in arts, plus two or more years of demonstrated technical expertise in web design/development. Technically focused applicants who are ABD but will earn their doctorate by date of employment will be considered. Demonstrated expertise for media focused applicants should be documented in the form of prior higher-education instruction or significant industry experience. Applicants that qualify for either focus should be able to demonstrate excellent teaching, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
