Administrative Assistant II - Admissions


Salisbury University, a member of the University System of Maryland, is a regionally accredited four-year comprehensive institution offering 62 distinct graduate and undergraduate programs. Located on the historic Eastern Shore, SU's beautiful campus is some 30 miles from the Atlantic beaches and 2.5 hours from Baltimore and Washington, D.C.

Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Administrative Assistant II in the Office of Admissions.

Primary Job Duties: This position provides complex administrative support under general supervision to the Office of Admissions as it relates to the document processing for the paperless transfer student application process. Processes all incoming college transcripts and related documents received for our transfer student applicants and training supporting student staff on same as appropriate. Processes all hard copy mail and email communications through the use of the department's CRM software to implement the department's transfer student communication plans. Serves as an administrative customer service resource to transfer applicants through phone contacts, the Transfer Admissions email account, and in person. Serves as a key administrative contact for the identification and processing of international transfer applications. Serves as one of the main administrative departmental contacts related to the University's application process for satellite admissions programs and other admissions processes for specialized programs.

Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma/GED and 3 years' experience providing administrative support. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on Word and Excel and the ability to learn other related software programs is required.

General knowledge of and skill in the practical application of generally accepted office practices and procedures. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to proofread and edit written documents. Skill in various computer software packages, such as word processing, spreadsheets, database, and digital databases, presentation programs, Internet, email and calendaring software. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to interact effectively with internal and external parties in a courteous and efficient manner. Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, troubleshoot and execute multiple and continuing assignments with general instructions.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience using PeopleSoft, digital document processing and a customer relations management software is preferred.

This is a full-time, non-exempt State position with a full benefits package. Starting salary is $35,728.00 annually, which is approximately $17.13 per hour.
