Duties and Responsibilities:
Manages the student advocacy program that ensures students are informed of and have reasonable access to university standards.

Manages the program that advocates the student code of conduct.

Manages a student outreach program that provides training and education on items related to processes, policies, ethics, risk management, decision making and conflict resolution.

Serves as a conduit and liaison between students and administration on a variety of matters that impact student engagement, social interaction and emotional support.

Maintains the responsibility for the collection of data to measure effectiveness of services for measurable outcomes.

Serves as a member of the university's crisis management team and other committees as deemed necessary to overall student success.

Investigates and adjudicates student conduct cases.

Maintains records and files on disciplinary cases in keeping with the applicable University policies and local/state/federal laws.

Receives and investigates grievances and problems related to University policies and procedures.

Provides information about University policies and procedures to the University community.

Conducts workshops on conflict management, classroom behavior, campus resources, and other presentation relevant to the campus.

Refers students to appropriate offices on campus.

Represents the accountability and advocacy office at campus wide forums, presentations, and training sessions.

Compiles monthly reports and detailed records, including outcomes and progress, regarding accountability and advocacy cases.

Prepare, develop and implement programs for the university community.

Assist in the support and advising of students, student groups, faculty, and staff on university policies and procedures.

Develop marketing materials, collaborate with university and external constituencies to meet program needs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of judicial and advocacy policies
Knowledge of local, state, and federal law concerning ethical and judicial practices in a higher education
Knowledge of best practices concerning restorative justice
Knowledge of best practices concerning student development and student conduct
Knowledge of best practices in the adjudication process in higher education
Knowledge of conduct software in a higher education setting
Knowledge of national organization(s) in higher education related to advocacy
Knowledge of national organization(s) in higher education related to judicial affairs
Knowledge of FERPA
Knowledge and understanding of laws as it relates to higher education administration
Knowledge of a campus/collegiate judicial process
Excellent problem solving skills
Excellent oral and communication skills
Excellent mediation skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to adjudicate cases in a higher education setting
Ability to collaborate with campus constituents
Ability to collaborate with community constituents
Ability to review, evaluate, and assess data

Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree in higher education administration, counseling, or related field, and five (5) years of related work experience. Additional education in related field may be substituted for experience.
