Position Description:
Reporting to and under the supervision of the Dean, School of Mathematics, Sciences & Health Professions with daily work direction provided by the Department Chair in conjunction with departmental faculty and the Lab Coordinator, performs a variety of technical and specialized duties related to the preparation, operation and maintenance of biological science laboratories and related areas; operates and demonstrates the use of specialized equipment and instructional materials; provides information and technical assistance to faculty and students. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Experience:
Two (2) years of full-time equivalent responsible experience working with the public in an educational, tutorial, laboratory setting or related area to Biological Sciences. Additional years of education to that identified below may substitute for experience requirement on a year for year basis. One year will equal 30 semester units.
Education:
Education equivalent to an Associate of Arts degree (60 semester units) from an accredited institution in a related field. College coursework must include successful completion of undergraduate college biology courses with bench-work skill sets to include microbiology, cellular-molecular, organismal, and physiology courses (minimum of 10 units).
