Lecturer Engineering Management & Industrial Eng.

The School of Computing, Informatics, and Decision Systems Engineering (CIDSE) in the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University (ASU) seeks applicants for a full-time lecturer position beginning Fall 2019.  The successful candidate for this position will have experience with classroom instruction and industry experience in technical functions in the broad fields of engineering management.  Areas of interest could include industrial engineering, project management, risk management, and systems engineering.

Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate courses in engineering management and industrial engineering.  Other teaching responsibilities include holding office hours and supervising teaching associates and graders.  Courses can include both on-campus and online offerings.

Required qualifications:

  • A master’s degree in Engineering Management, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline by the time of appointment
  • Demonstrated teaching experience in either an industrial or academic environment
  • Five years of industry experience in technical functions

Desired qualifications:

  • A doctoral degree in Engineering Management, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline by the time of appointment
  • Demonstrated record of excellence in teaching that incorporates active learning
  • Extensive professional experience in the areas of Engineering Management and Industrial Engineering

CIDSE has locations on the Tempe and Polytechnic Campuses so some travel between locations should be expected.  In addition, CIDSE has an online presence. This is a non-tenure track appointment at the rank of Lecturer with a fixed term, renewable academic-year contract.
