Job Summary

The Department of University Information & Technology Services (UITS) at Columbus State University has multiple positions seeking qualified Web Developers. These positions require a diverse set of skills, primarily utilizing web design and development. The successful candidates will serve as a web developers working with UITS, University Relations, and other departments on campus in designing and developing of enterprise web and mobile applications. These positions will report to the Manager of Systems and Web Technologies in UITS and may supervise student assistants in the development and maintenance of enterprise web and mobile applications.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: planning, programming, designing, developing, directing, continuous integration, and upgrading Columbus State University web and mobile applications; supporting UITS in programming content and improving usability of Columbus State University's webpages; working closely with the Web Content Manager and University Relations as needed in support of university and departmental goals; serving as consultants to faculty and staff for the design, development, management and maintenance of web applications and web-related technologies; researching and recommending new/upcoming technology stacks that may help to support the university and departmental goals; and all other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree (preferred) in Computer Science or a related field; or a minimum of two years' experience with web development; or any equivalent combination of training and experience. The successful candidate must possess a demonstrated knowledge of web technologies, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP; a demonstrated knowledge of Apache/Linux environment; a demonstrated knowledge of Git; a demonstrated knowledge of web accessibility and web usability guidelines and practices; the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and employees; the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others, work independently, and multi-task effectively; the ability to be flexible and a willingness to accept change in priorities as necessary; and a strong attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with modern back-end development technology stacks such as PHP frameworks, particularly Laravel and experience with modern front-end development technology stacks such as JavaScript frameworks - Angular JS and/or Vue.js is preferred.

Proposed Salary

The salary range for this position is $40,000 - $45,000 annualized.
