Job Purpose
Provide programmatic coordination for the $300,000 grant funded by the Office on Violence Against Women (OVW), U.S. Department of Justice. The grant funds sexual violence prevention initiatives at Tennessee Tech University. The project coordinator administers Project AWAKEN educational programs, engages the campus and surrounding communities, and serves as an advocate for victims of sexual violence.

Essential Functions
Cooperate with grant partners and multidisciplinary grant team to design effective, on-campus education and prevention programs to address sexual violence (sexual assault, relationship violence, and stalking) on the Tennessee Tech campus. Oversee and implement mandatory routine training program for first-year students and transfer students, best practices training of trauma-informed care for all campus police and those who may be responding to occurrences of sexual assault, relationship violence, and stalking, and contribute to the development of campus policies addressing sexual violence. Assist with the development of the state-of-the-art, cutting edge virtual reality simulation addressing sexual violence and key preventive information. Instrumental in building a supportive environment for sexual violence victims. Oversee and implement social norming practices and large events addressing sexual violence throughout the campus community and surrounding communities, including the use of social media to promote social norming practices. Work with the Office of Disability Services to arrange for all sexual violence educational programs be made available to those with disabilities. Strengthen student participation in the response to sexual assault, dating violence, stalking, and domestic violence. Assist the grant evaluator in data collection and execution of evaluation component efforts. Serve as the primary contact for all grant partners. Convene and coordinate meetings and activities with grant partners. Focus on strengthening existing relationships and promoting additional collaborative relationships with both on and off campus grant partners. Draft reports and other materials related to grant project. Provide information obtained from the project to other interested institutions of higher education. Understand, promote, and support laws, policies, and procedures that aim to reduce sexual violence. Attend all required training institutes and participate in teleconferences. Work cooperatively with the Office on Violence Against Women and other technical assistance providers in the development and implementation of grant activities. Assist grant Principal Investigator in ensuring university compliance with all special conditions included in the grant award. Ensure that all financial and progress reports are submitted in a timely matter.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. One year of experience in the field of sexual violence prevention, education, or response on a professional or volunteer basis. Will consider a broad range of relevant specialties, such as community health, higher education/student affairs, health promotion, social work, criminal justice, public health, gender and women's studies, community health education, and/or community organizing. Strong leadership and group facilitation skills. Strong organizational skills. Expertise and passion regarding sexual violence issues. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to mentor and teach students. Experience using innovative approaches to address sexual violence. Demonstrated experience in and commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity. Ability to be self-directed in program development and management. Demonstrated history of mature, professional judgement. Ability to travel to attend training institutes.

Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited institution in counseling, women's studies, psychology, or related field. University campus experience and grant compliance experience.

Work Hours
Typical hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Ability to work some evening/weekend hours.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Commensurate with education and experience; Administrative Pay Grade AD41. This is a full-time grant funded position; its continuation is contingent upon future funding.
