Job Purpose
Lead the University's fundraising program, providing strategic direction and oversight so as to position Tech to realize increasing levels of private gift support; facilitate meaningful partnerships with academic leaders (e.g., deans, chairs) for the purpose of generating private gift support; and work proactively and personally with a portfolio of donors and prospective donors.

Essential Functions
Articulate compellingly Tech's case for support as well as the transformational difference philanthropy can make at the University. Inspire and motivate staff and volunteers to give their best efforts to advance Tech philanthropically. Partner effectively with unit-level leadership (e.g. deans, chairs, directors) so as to generate synergistic advancement activity (emphasis on written proposals) that leads to higher levels of private gift support. Maintain currency as an advancement leader through professional development and ongoing facility with the latest problems, issues, and trends in higher education. Manage a portfolio of donors and prospective donors who are best positioned to make the greatest philanthropic impact for Tech. Lead and manage the fundraising team, including the regional directors of development and directors who helm the corporate & foundation relations and planned giving programs. Provide strategic leadership in identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major donors, including individuals, corporations, and foundations. Establish measurable goals and objectives for University Development team; assist each team member in the fulfillment of these aims. Serve on the University Advancement leadership team. Assume other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
An earned bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Eight years of relevant experience, including five years of professional fundraising experience in either a non-profit or higher education setting and three years of supervisory experience. Ability to design, plan, manage, and implement a fund raising program. Must possess exceptional communication skills, orally and in writing, appealing to diverse audiences with vary expectations. Ability to travel extensively. Ability to lead and mentor staff. Proven ability to raise money from a diverse set of constituents. Willingness to adapt to changing circumstances. Demonstrated record of gift closure.

Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited institution in business administration, public administration, leadership, or relevant field of study. Successful performance in supervisory positions of increasing levels of responsibility. Ability to cast vision, translate vision into an actionable plan that can be implemented, measure results, and make changes as appropriate. Fundraising experience with an organization in a major campaign; higher education campaign experience a plus. Experience with onboarding new employees, conducting staff training, mentoring fundraising staff, and evaluating employees. Established record of working synergistically with and exerting influence over employees who are not in one's primary area. Understanding of organizational culture as well as how an organization attains and maintains a position of health. Experience in engaging volunteer leaders in meaningful activity (e.g. developing campaign materials; strategizing about goals, objectives, and tactics; and interacting with an advisory or governing board).

Work Hours
Typical hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Additional hours if/when needed.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Commensurate with education and experience; Executive Pay Grade EX25.

The University offers a competitive benefits package. Benefits include the accumulation of two vacation days per month and one sick leave day per month, and thirteen University holidays.
