Community & Environmental Health - Associate Professor

Old Dominion University invites application for a 10-month full-time, tenure-track faculty position in the School of Community and Environmental Health. Incoming faculty will be expected to maintain an active program of teaching, service and research at school.

Minimum Qualifications - knowledge, skills, and abilities
Candidates for this position must meet the following minimum requirements:
• Expertise in research methodology including study design, data interpretation, data management, and data analysis, environment and policy aspects of public health or closely related areas
• Demonstrated research independence and strong record of research including refereed journal publications and an established track record in external funded research
• Potential for securing new external research funding
• Track record of strong community engagement
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; the candidate must be able to communicate (in written and oral form) methodological approaches (study design, analysis plans etc.) and research results effective.

Minimum Qualifications - Education or training
Earned terminal degree (e.g., PhD, ScD) in public health or related field.

Minimum Qualifications - Special licenses, registration or certification

Preferred Qualifications
• Demonstrated experience working with others and across departments or disciplines; Collaborative research potential and experience,
• Demonstrated experience in research design, multiple statistical approaches, survey methods, risk communications, economics, planning policy, social justice, vulnerable populations, environment, and sea level rise.
• Graduate level teaching experience
• Experience advising and mentoring graduate and undergraduate students
