JOB SUMMARY:

The Department of Health and Sport Sciences of the Ruth S. Ammon School of Education is currently seeking for an Assistant or Associate Professor in Sport Management for a full-time (9-month) tenure track professor position starting Fall 2019.

The Sport Management program currently offers a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management, Master of Science in Sport Management with specializations in Collegiate Athletic Administration, Sport Marketing and Sport-Based Youth Development, a specialization within the Robert B. Willumstad School of Business Master of Business Administration program and minors in Sport Management for Business, Communication, Marketing & Psychology students. We offer the MS Sport Management with specializations on ground at the Garden City and Manhattan Campuses as well as a fully online program. https://education-ehps.adelphi.edu/sport-management/.

The Department offers undergraduate programs in exercise science, physical education and sport management and graduate programs in exercise science, community health promotion, school health and physical education and sport management. These academic programs prepare practitioners, administrators, researchers and leaders within all relevant career fields. https://education-ehps.adelphi.edu/sport-management/

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in sport management, development of research agenda and curriculum development.
Advising and mentoring of students.
Service to school, university and community.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Earned doctorate in Sport Management or related field.
Experiences in athletic administration or sport marketing (highly considered),as well as sport-based youth development.
Established record of teaching excellence, demonstrated record of scholarly activity, excellence in written/oral communication skills, and value for and capacity to work with diverse populations.
Interest in online learning and integration of technology into teaching is encouraged.
Academic experiences with culturally diverse populations are sought.
