JOB SUMMARY:

The coordinator provides clinical and administrative support to the Mental Health Counseling (MHC) program and all concentrations within the General Masters and MHC.

REPORTS TO: Assistant Dean

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  1. Covering the clinical and the fieldwork administrative needs of the two distinct programs (General Masters and MHC) with several academic concentrations/tracks.
  2. Assisting the Assistant Dean/Program Director in overseeing all day-to-day operations of practicum and internship.
  3. Developing new clinical partnerships.
  4. Conducting site visits.
  5. Attending off-campus meetings with site supervisors/administration.
  6. Coordinating practicum and internship placement.
  7. Advising MHC/MA students on course planning and placement scheduling.
  8. Monitoring class enrollments, and assisting in department budget planning.
  9. Preparation of contracts for internships and graduate assistantships.
  10. Providing administrative support for our admissions/graduation process, hiring procedures, faculty searches, and support for faculty and students in the department.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Competencies in clinical practice and metal health service delivery. This includes clinical diagnostics, assessment, treatments, policy, regulatory and ethical guidelines.

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Master's degree in a counseling field with eligibility for state licensure (e.g., MHC-limited permit, LMSW) is required.
  2. Doctorate degree in clinical psychology or related field is strongly desired.

HOURS:

  1. 20 hours per week between the of 9-5 (flexible).
  2. The practicum coordinator is a 9-month position (September-May).
