Ocean Color/Remote Sensing - Assistant Professor of Ocean, Earth and Atmospheri

The Department of Ocean, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at Old Dominion University seeks candidates for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position with research interests in remote sensing and ocean color, who use field observations and numerical models to explore the impacts of climate change on coastal ocean.
The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain an independent and externally funded research program, contribute to teaching in our department at the graduate and undergraduate level, and mentor graduate students.

Minimum Qualifications - knowledge, skills, and abilities
Applicants must have a demonstrated record of extramural funding from appropriate local, state, and/or federal agencies, or a strong potential for success in obtaining extramural funding. Excellence in oral and written communication is required.

Minimum Qualifications - Education or training
Applicants must have a PhD in oceanography or a related discipline and post-doctoral experience.

Preferred Qualifications
We particularly seek an individual with specific research interests in the Arctic and/or estuarine/coastal ecosystems.
