Job Purpose
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the Whitson-Hester School of Nursing.

Essential Functions
Clinical and didactic teaching in graduate programs with opportunities to teach in the undergraduate programs. Academic advisement, community and faculty service, scholarly activities consistent with Whitson-Hester School of Nursing mission and vision including Boyer's Model of Scholarship and the mission of the University. Commitment to recruiting, advising, retaining, and mentoring qualified students. Contribute to a positive work environment in the School and University.

Minimum Qualifications
Earned doctorate from an accredited institution in nursing. The Search Committee will consider a doctoral candidate in their final stages of completion of their dissertation and/or project. Prior clinical and/or didactic teaching experience in baccalaureate or graduate nursing programs. A current Tennessee registered nursing license or eligible to obtain Tennessee registered nursing license.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in adult acute care and/or pediatric primary care. Certification as Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner-Primary Care. Experience in conducting and or facilitating various levels of simulation in respective specialty area. Technological literacy including management of electronic medical records, on-line course delivery methods, and distance learning. Experience in graduate level teaching. APRN licensure or eligible to obtain Tennessee licensure.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Commensurate with education and experience. Full-time, nine months tenure-track position to begin January 2019 or August 2019.
