Job Purpose
Teaching, research, service and other duties assigned by the School of Human Ecology.

Essential Functions
Teach undergraduate level courses in housing design, interior design, computer-aided design and other Family and Consumer Science content as appropriate for expertise and education.

Minimum Qualifications
Advanced terminal degree from an accredited institution in Interior Design, Housing Design, Architectural Design, or closely related field. One year teaching experience in the content area at the collegiate level. Demonstrated ability to deliver coursework using a variety of teaching techniques. Demonstrate a record of or potential for research and publication in scholarly peer-reviewed journals within the discipline.

Preferred Qualifications
Earned doctorate or completion of all coursework (ABD) from an accredited institution in Interior Design, Housing Design, Architectural Design, or closely related field. At least one year of industry experience in interior design, housing design, architectural design, or computer-aided design. Experience with Chief Architect, AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit, and/or Adobe Creative Suite software. Experience with curriculum design/redesign. Qualified to teach across Family and Consumer Sciences concentrations.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Commensurate with education and experience. Full-time, nine-month, tenure-track position to begin August 2019.
