The Division of Nephrology-Hypertension at the University of California, San Diego (http://med.ucsd.edu/) is recruiting an academic nephrologist for a faculty position.

The selected candidate will assist in clinical management of kidney disease patients, both in chronic kidney disease and dialysis, will be actively engaged in research activities related to chronic kidney disease-mineral bone disorder. The position will (1) provide continuity of care for maintenance dialysis patients, (2) provide general nephrology clinical services in both inpatient and outpatient settings, (3) conduct and participate in research in kidney disease, and (4) participate in the educational and research missions of the University, Department, and Division.

Candidates must have an MD and be board certified/board eligible in Nephrology and a California medical licensure/eligibility is required. Candidates must have experience in nephrology consultation, critical care nephrology including continuous renal replacement therapy modalities, plasmapheresis, invasive procedures, end-stage renal disease care, bone biopsy procedures and a publication track record in clinically oriented research.

The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on the University of California pay scales. Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded.
