Position Summary: Under general supervision, design, test and implement web sites and programs to meet user needs. Design and code web related media from concept to production, including landing pages, campaign sites, individual graphic assets and multimedia. Provide primary end user support. Designs website to support organizational strategies and goals. Work closely with Administrator of Web and Digital Media on the creation and maintenance of campus-wide digital signage. Experience with web development and design for complex, interactive web applications that support a broad range of usability requirements, comply with institutional and government policies on accessibility, and remain compatible with vendor supplied updates.

Duties and Responsibilities: Creates and maintains website layout and design and provide daily support, maintenance, and enhancement of the Vol State websites and third-party sites. Consults with the Administrator of Web and Digital Media regarding content providers and graphics requirements and website development assignments. Translates wireframes, storyboards and site maps into web design layouts. Maintains and edits website content in the content management system (CMS). Participates as a team member in website development projects. Implements and maintains website architecture and enters data into the CMS and/or database. Maintains and edits content and graphic media such as photographs, video and other visual design elements. Assesses usability and accessibility of website designs. Designs web sites for use by individuals with a range of visual, auditory, motor/mobility and cognitive abilities. Monitors and co-manages the Web Services email and ticketing queue, flagging tasks and routing requests to appropriate staff. Assists in documentation and education of Vol State website standards and procedures. Participates in troubleshooting and quality assurance testing for various websites, applications, and tools. Develops and provides information on advanced technical/training support for the College's web content management system and other online tools (via blogs, form systems, surveys, and website tutorials). Creates web analytics reports, provides insight on interpreting results, and helps clients improve their website usability. Researches and recommends techniques and technologies for advancing the College web site. Provides basic digital graphic art support using Photoshop or similar. Works with Administrator of Web and Digital Media and vendors to execute online initiatives. Works with Information Technology staff on digital signage projects. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications: A minimum of an Associate's degree from an accredited institution. Two years of related experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Work Characteristics: Strong Knowledge of building custom web pages, and templates, using HTML5, JavaScript/jQuery, CSS3, PHP and MySQL. Knowledge of website development best practices, including SEO techniques and compliance with Section 508 accessibility guidelines. Familiarity with Drupal, Wordpress and other Content Management Systems. Ability to design for both traditional and digital channels including web design. High aptitude for learning computer technology programs and procedures. Ability to multi-task, be flexible, manage shifting priorities and adjust well to change. Excellent communication skills, organization skills, and ability to work both independently and as a member of a team. Strong project management skills and ability to keep work/tasks organized and prioritized. Ability to collaborate and complete projects with both technical and non-technical colleagues. Understanding of and commitment to Vol State's Vision, Mission, and Values. Ability to maintain a positive attitude along with an interest and ability to learn, evaluate and recommend new technologies and techniques.

Pay Rate: 48,370.00 - 60,460.00 annual salary depending on experience
