Research Technician - Department of Physics and Astronomy, School of Arts and S

This is a limited term position ending October 14, 2019. This is a grant funded position and is not eligible for severance pay.

The principal activities of the Physics and Astronomy Department are research and education, at both the undergraduate and graduate level. We strive both to contribute to the growing understanding of the physical universe, and to education students in both the content of physics and its methods and principles.

Under close supervision of Principal Investigator, uses existing software for the analysis and simulation of quantum simulation methods. Runs, documents and manages code and data related to quantum information tasks. Runs simulations of quantum computers, and, depending on availability manages simulations run on quantum computers to which cloud access is available. Develops new code as necessary.


Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor s degree in science with relevant research experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with basic quantum simulation techniques.
  • Experience with code for classical simulation of quantum simulation problems.
