Duties and Responsibilities
Loyola University Chicago ( LUC ), College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Mathematics and Statistics invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Applied Mathematics, beginning fall 2019. The department has several undergraduate degree programs in mathematics, applied mathematics and statistics as well as masters programs in mathematics and applied statistics. The position involves teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in the department s B.S. and M.S. programs, engaging in a productive program of research, and performing service at the department, college, and university levels.

Qualifications
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in mathematics, applied mathematics, or related area, demonstrated experience in and commitment to quality teaching at the university level, and an active research program in applied mathematics. Research interests in Calculus of Variations, Control, Materials Science, Mathematical Modeling, Optimization, or Partial Differential Equations, and experience in computation are desired. The incumbent must also be willing to support the mission of LUC and the goals of a Jesuit Catholic Education.
