Job Purpose
Teach courses, perform research, and fulfill service mission for the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

Essential Functions
Develop an externally funded research program that contributes to one of the research focus areas for the College of Engineering with particular emphasis on Sensors, Actuators, or other Mechatronic systems with applications in manufacturing or automotive systems. Teach undergraduate and graduate courses and labs in support of the Mechanical Engineering Department curricula. Direct student research, leading to publications in refereed journals and other peer reviewed media. Advise undergraduate and graduate students. Serve on department, college, and university committees. Participate in professional and public service activities. Minimum Qualifications
An earned doctorate from an accredited institution in mechanical engineering or a closely related field. Ability to perform the essential functions. Ability to communicate effectively and to develop and maintain an effective working relationship with faculty, students, administrators, staff and public.

Preferred Qualifications
A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in mechanical engineering. Prior teaching and or post-doc experience. Experience in sensors, actuators, or other mechatronic systems with manufacturing or automotive applications.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Commensurate with education and experience. Nine-month, tenure-track position to begin August 2019.
