The Black Experience in the Americas
 
The School of Historical, Philosophical, and Religious Studies at Arizona State University invites applications for a full-time, Assistant/Associate Professor, tenure-track/tenured position in the Black Experience in the Americas to begin August 2019. Rank, tenure status and salary will be commensurate with experience.

Minimum qualification is a Ph.D. in history, religious studies, or its equivalent by date of appointment.

Desired qualifications:  the area of specialization and time period are open, but scholars of African American history and/or African American religion with expertise in social movements and intersectional and/or postcolonial foci and approaches are encouraged to apply. Demonstrated success meeting the needs of diverse student populations and/or reaching out to diverse communities.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain an internationally recognized research program, teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including online, and participate in university and professional service.
