Job Description Summary

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Auburn University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant/associate professor in the areas of machine learning, neural networks, and artificial intelligence beginning with the Fall 2019 semester. The individual selected for this position will be expected to secure research funding, collaborate with faculty on interdisciplinary research projects, and teach both undergraduate and graduate courses.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering or a closely related field at the time employment begins. We particularly seek candidates who are eligible to participate in research activities involving controlled unclassified information. The candidate selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment. Excellent communication skills required.

Desired Qualifications

Demonstrate the potential to 1) excel as a teacher in both undergraduate and graduate courses, 2) secure funding to support a research program, 3) mentor graduate students, and 4) publish research results in the appropriate scholarly outlets.
