Columbus State University has an opening for a Student Assistant in the Office of the Dean of Students. This position is available beginning October 22, 2018.
Responsibilities
The selected candidate will greet and assist visitors; direct visitors to appropriate resources and provide excellent customer service; answer the general Student Affairs phone line and assist all callers; check voicemail to assist missed callers; schedule meetings upon request; copy documents as needed; check copy machine paper supply often; open and distribute incoming mail; submission of work orders utilizing the eQuest system; pick-up and drop-off paperwork to various offices on campus; maintain conference room reservations as needed; order catering as needed; prepare payment requests as needed; assist with Who's Who and Honors Convocation Award Ceremony details as needed; and all other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
The student must be a currently enrolled student and in good academic standing; possess excellent oral and written communication skills; possess strong phone and computer skills; possess the ability to operate a multi-line phone; and must be able to work under deadlines and established goals.
Preferred Qualifications
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications - especially Word, Excel and Power Point.
Proposed Salary
The salary for this position will be $8.00 per hour. This position will work up to 19 hours per week.

Conditions of Employment
To be considered for a Student Assistant position, the applicant must be a current Columbus State University student, taking at least six (6) credit hour courses per semester.

Work Schedule
Work hours for Fall Semester 2018 will typically be in the afternoon Monday through Thursday (1:00-5:00pm), and on Friday mornings (9:00am-12:00pm). Work schedule is subject to change each semester to accommodate the needs of the department.
