Job Purpose
Teach courses, perform research, and fulfill service mission for the Department of Computer Science.

Essential Functions
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in computer science, engage in scholarly activities, develop externally funded research programs in Information Assurance and Cybersecurity, direct the research of undergraduate students and graduate students at both the M.S. and Ph.D. levels, serve on committees at the departmental, college, and university levels, engage in professional and public service, and advise students on academic curricula, professionalism, and career opportunities. Faculty are expected to be involved in activities of Tennessee Tech's Cybersecurity Education, Research and Outreach Center (CEROC) in some capacity.

Minimum Qualifications
An earned Ph.D. from an accredited institution in computer science or a closely related field by the start date of employment; experience commensurate with the rank of associate professor; desire to strive for teaching excellence at the undergraduate and graduate levels; potential to develop and conduct externally funded Information Assurance and Cybersecurity research; engagement in scholarly activities as demonstrated by peer-reviewed journal and conference publications; and effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in computer science; relevant teaching experience; experience in research and proposal writing; industrial experience; and an ability to contribute to the department in the areas of Data Science and/or High Performance & Distributed Computing; demonstrable success in establishing a research program and excellence in teaching.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Commensurate with education and experience. Full-time, nine-month, tenure-track position to begin August 2019.
